Which one should you choose?
10/21/2013 Back To BlogBuilding a house or even renovating your home is a stressful and often time consuming task, deciding on the look to the overall feel of your home. Every aspect of your home should be taken into account, to create exactly what your hard earned money is paying for. Color and style are important parts of creating a unified and attractive look.
Garage doors play a significant part of the appearance of your house and the versatility of your garage, but before you just pick one out of a catalogue, let’s talk about some things you need to take into consideration.
Once you have decided on the size of the garage, be it a double door or just enough space for a single car, you will need to consider the following when making your choice.
1. The style
What type of architecture style is used on the house? You can research it yourself or just ask your architect. You can try and spitball this but as with any spit-balling process there is a chance that you could be wrong and your brand new door could clash with the rest of the house.
2. Location
This might sound stupid, but location is important when it comes to choosing a certain type of material the door is made out of, for instance wood is not recommended in humid coastal areas, where fiberglass is better, and steel also does a good job. Take your location into consideration before choosing.
3. Space
Your architect can give you these exact measurements or you can try and measure it yourself, this will help you work out which system will work best and makes the most efficient use of space.
Finding the right door is crucial, shop around and research different doors yourself before you make a final decision. Good Luck!
